I Can Fly

Gary Sironen is a playwright, lyricist, composer and musician in Grand Rapids, MI. He has written or collaborated on four full-length musicals, Reformation (book/lyrics/music), Voices (book/lyrics/music), both of which were self-produced; Please Come Home for Christmas (music & lyrics), and Fable Us! (music); two short musicals, Martin's Christmas Carol (book/lyrics adaptation/music), and SHELL SHOCKED (music); and several short plays. His 10 minute monologue, I CAN FLY, has received a live production, a couple of streamed productions, and is published in a collection of short plays entitled GO PLAY OUTSIDE, published by Applause Books.

He has contributed music and been music director for several high school and community theatre musical productions. As a church music director, he has written over 100 worship songs, choral anthems and worship liturgies in a variety of musical styles. Gary’s work has included decades as a professional musician, ten years as a public-school band & choir and stage musical director, 20 years as a church music director and 25 years as Secretary-Treasurer of his local musicians’ union. He is a member of the Grand Rapids Federation of Musicians, the Dramatists Guild of America and the TheaterMakers Studio.
